What is the piece called the fits on the crank between the harmonic balancer and the timing cover? FE360 FORD?
I have a 1970 F250 and I am replacing the engine. I have a new harmonic balancer and I noticed a part that seems like a spacer that goes between the timing cover and the harmonic balancer on the old crank. I was wondering what it was called, and how do I get the thing off of the old crank so I can re-use it on the new crank. Any advice?
i don't have much hands on experience with the FE motors (they never appealed to me) but according to my Haynes manual it is called the "crankshaft pulley spacer" it looks like you may have to remove the woodruff key first? and it supposedly slides right off.
if it don't i would try removing the timing chain , then use a gear puller on the crank sprocket.

my Chilton's calls it a "crankshaft sleeve" and says : "on the 352, 360, 361, 390, 391 v-8 remove the crankshaft sleeve with a puller"
