When kids' friends come over, are they allowed to play on the bed?
Question for folks with kids in the 5-10 years range. When your kid's friends come over, and they are hanging out in your kid's room, do they also lie around or sit or play on the bed?
My kids' beds dont' have a bedspread or cover on the bed. The quilt/comforter is half folded down, and the other half is covered by the fitted sheet & pillows. I spread out a thick old clean blanket on the whole set when their friends are over. One mom noticed me doing this, I didn't have time to do it in advance...she was kind of offended, like I though her kid was dirty or something.
It is not that, is just that kids go to so many places - school, playground, and can be dusty/dirty without knowing.
So, do your kid's friends lie around or sit, play, watch tv on the bed or is that off limits?
I do know it is not a big deal, am just curious!
I don't even allow friends to play in the bedroom (my daughter is only 4) they play downstairs in the playroom. I find that young kids make a mess of the bedroom. I think your idea of throwing a blanket over the bed is a really great one, I'm going to do that when my child and her friends are older.
